Thanks for the question, the finish is a very traditional sand and cement plastered finish which can be left natural, as it is above on the left or painted as on the right. The grey colour is a result of the mix of cement and sand used. The technical term for the render finish is 'KNAP'. Its floated with a plastic float and then something rubbed with a wet sponge. It's a very traditional plaster finish in Ireland.
