Would grey carpet work with cream wall and orange curtains

I am doing up my good room. Will grey carpet go with Orange curtains and cream wall?

Oh my god! How did you do that? Amazing! Yeah the Ikea curtains were a slightly darker shade of grey in a velvety looking material (and way too long I might add). I had put the rug at the bottom of the bed to cover a big stain that is on the cream carpet so that unfortunately puts out the idea of the rugs at the side of the bed out the window (although I did love that idea too). Those pictures would work really well- I saw them on the weekend and hadnt even considered them! Thank you :)

I definitely think some colour on the walls would look great with your monochrome curtains and furniture. I would suggest a relatively soft colour, maybe a duck egg or greyish green colour, nothing too vibrant that will battle with the bold monochrome! Hi--- I recommend painting the entire room and chair rail one color, as there are too many breaks\divisions in the space already. I think your ceiling should have a bit of emphasis, so painting it a deeper hue than the walls would add some drama, interest, and elevate the overall look. A larger rug is a must for this space, as well as art above the FP. I agree with Mark--- mirrors opposite windows to reflect light. www.visioninteriors.ie Looking at your curtains and curtain pole, in my opinion it is the pole that initially needs to be corrected - it is a nice steel pole,however the importance of a pole being fitted correctly makes a huge difference to the hanging and look of the curtains. the brackets at each end of the pole should be at least 8"/20cm away from each sides of the window, this allows the curtains to frame the window nicely while letting in as much light as possible. The brackets should be 2"/5cm away from the finial ( ball end in this case) at each end of the pole. The space between the bracket and the finial (end of the pole) has one curtain ring only and the rest of the curtain rings/hooks are the window side of the brackets so that the curtains can hang straight. Whether you buy new curtains or hold onto your existing ones check out the fitting of the pole and remedy it - you will be amazed at the difference this can make.
