Comments (16)Thanks for the explanation. Try a wall that is drawers up to waist high, cupboards above that. YOu can add pull-out cutting boards at waist height so that you can put things there when unpacking groceries and putting things away in the cabinets and drawers: Drawers will help but they will not increase storage space by a factor of two. You could also add drawers where the microwave is now and continue to keep the microwave on top. Here is another wall of wood cabinets: Although it will not solve your storage problem, I recommend that you pull everything out of the cabinets and drawers, one drawer or shelf at a time. Be flexible about storing things elsewhere while the children are very small. Or discarding "aspirational cooking" implements (egg slicers, orange zesters, martini shakers. lobster-shaped gelatin molds) that just haven't been used in years. Families with children tend to accumulate an enormous amount of plastic stuff. In six months or a year, they will need different plastic stuff!...See MoreNext step for this kitchen?
Comments (5)Hi. The kitchen looks lovely. As the windows are lower than the units I would avoid tiling or a splashback all the way round the kitchen. Maybe just either go for a decorative tiled splashback behind the hob or use a glass splashback. Keep it simple with clear/light coloured glass or look at other decorative ideas with wallpaper, art etc. Alternatively just tile that oven ŵall about a foot high, handmade metro tiles in a pale olive would look nice. I noticed you like copper so I don't know if this is an idea? It would look great against the white and work with the warm tones in the wood. https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/louises-kitchen-midcentury-kitchen-adelaide-phvw-vp~1768716 I would also add shelves. Try searching "Kitchen with shelves between windows" for ideas but I might just add 2 shelves either side of the Middle window and pop your herbs on there...See MoreKitchen splashback - how many lines of tile
Comments (19)The tile is very pretty. I don't know if it is just the colours showing up differently on screen but the light grey appears to be a different tone (more purple to me) than your tile. If you want a light grey I would take the tile to the store and try for a better match. The dark color ties in nicely to the tile and could be very dramatic and stunning if the room gets a lot of light....See MoreWin an iPad - Vote for your favourite Irish photo!
Comments (145)I love the cabin in the woods, its a intimate setting where you are drawn to the outside whilst keeping snug indoors. The use of fabrics sets it apart from the usual cold designs of other modern rooms. The attention detail in the selection of furniture pieces keeps it modern yet functional....See MoreAmber Jeavons Ltd
