hi i have als long narrow hallway with pine celings and floors and cream walls and 1 small window and poor lighting any sugestions on colour scheme to make it warm and bright also would like some storage ideas too

I don't think it's your color scheme or materials that's the problem - It's that you need to upgrade your lighting.

Bring in a credenza or hall table and put some table lamps on it - have an Electrician install more ceiling lights or sconces - or DIY some track lights on your ceiling yourself.

Hippy Style, Okay. Add beaded curtains over the windows with a pull down shade underneath for privacy. Bright colors will work. On one feature wall paint a background color and the do some hippy graffiti.....Add words like Love, Peace, Groovy, Beattles, Rolling Stone, No War, paint bold flowers and a peace sign of course!

What about blinds which raise up from the base of the window, partially or totally raise as suits? There are some gorgeous lace panels around (NOT talking nets here!) - try Anthology perhaps, or even La Redoute who have some 'v' bottomed ones amongst others? Bee

replace extension with glass?

Hi all We are interested in a terrace house with a full width extension to the rear, half two story (flat roof) other single story flat roof. Attached pic shows it and dimensions. I have north & south drawn on. There is no roof windows to let any light in. I think replacing the single story with a glass side extension could be great. Attached is one that spiked my interest. Would it be pointless getting on considering it is north facing? Or should we look at extending the second story at the shower room and bedroom 3 for ensuite and walkin closet? TIA
