Need help to dress up my dining room,am thinking of cream panelling,ra
Comments (33)If you want custom cream panelling built from scratch, it is likely to take you more than three weeks to line up a contractor, get it built and then painted. If you want to use beadboard (thin, lightweight, cheap) you can do it yourself if you are good at the small precision cuts around the wood window trim and behind the radiators. You can get a custom built wood cover with doors for your tv or use the painting over tv disguise made with hinges. I think the room is beautiful as it is. Spend some money on a truly beautiful, impressive chandelier, have it centered over the table. If you want to impress relatives at an event, the chandelier is the way to go. Clean the windows for extra sparkle. If you are in the US, try Home Decorators http://www.homedecorators.com for DVD storage cabinets that are closed. I would not get a rug for this room unless I was ready to get it cleaned frequently and I could find one that looked good with dog hair on it and did not show stains. A good quality, highly patterned wool Oriental rug will do that job nicely. Such a rug is an investment and may take longer than three weeks to find....See Moreneed help with my living room
Comments (37)Hello CG, you can buy some of these and try them on site. From the pictures you posted I get the feeling you have 2 colors with similar saturation both fighting for attention. It's a little too much. I would keep the green but go softer on the red (i.e rust). You can also let yourself be inspired by the grey/silver/bordeaux floral and stripe pillows to create a brand new color scheme using these colors instead. For example, a very soft gray on the walls, gray carpet, grey/bordeaux combo in the curtains and for the sofa accents, pillows similar to these 2. It's decision time. Go for what speaks to you, but do it with elegance :-)...See MoreCurtain Colour and Something for the Wall?
Comments (7)Oh my god! How did you do that? Amazing! Yeah the Ikea curtains were a slightly darker shade of grey in a velvety looking material (and way too long I might add). I had put the rug at the bottom of the bed to cover a big stain that is on the cream carpet so that unfortunately puts out the idea of the rugs at the side of the bed out the window (although I did love that idea too). Those pictures would work really well- I saw them on the weekend and hadnt even considered them! Thank you :)...See MoreNeed help with decked area
Comments (3)As you've got the Abbey Road sign, why not make it a music corner? Perhaps a Beatles inspired / Sixties monochrome scheme. You could get a musical notes design printed on an outdoor canvas for the wall, or a sail & hang over to create shade. Perhaps some instrument outlines on the wall. Planting could be black & white with pops of colour. A decorative white chair & outdoor rug would look inviting. Or you could even paint boards b&w stripes like the zebra crossing!...See MoreRenovation Management by Bastani Consultants
