This new kitchen needs a finish. Its in a simple L shape. Very basic. Any suggestions? Wall units perhaps? Open shelving? Any suggestions very welcome.
Curious also as to how much tiling to do? How far up the walls? Colours? Thanks a lot!
If you don't need anymore storage, then the less is more look, as it is now is better as it makes the space look much larger. However, if you do want more storage just add wall cupboards either side of the cooker hood. Decorate with some pretty opaque blinds and keep it simple.
Instead of cupboards, I think I'd be tempted to add a couple of floating shelves either side of the hood and move some of the excess 'stuff' from your work surface onto them.
If you want to add colour you could have a narrow row of tiles all around and you need a splash back behind the hob to stop messy cooking splashes damaging your walls.
Hi. The kitchen looks lovely. As the windows are lower than the units I would avoid tiling or a splashback all the way round the kitchen. Maybe just either go for a decorative tiled splashback behind the hob or use a glass splashback. Keep it simple with clear/light coloured glass or look at other decorative ideas with wallpaper, art etc. Alternatively just tile that oven ŵall about a foot high, handmade metro tiles in a pale olive would look nice. I noticed you like copper so I don't know if this is an idea? It would look great against the white and work with the warm tones in the wood.
I would also add shelves. Try searching "Kitchen with shelves between windows" for ideas but I might just add 2 shelves either side of the Middle window and pop your herbs on there
This side windows in the above image reminded me of your windows, and as Bagpuss Antiques recommended, a Roller blind would be a great way to lift things. I think open shelving is a lovely idea too, and you could pick up on your chosen blinds with accessories.
