Comments (3)Do you plan on painting your walls? I hope so. If yes than could also change your plan later. Be sure to look at the entire room before deciding how to decorate just one wall. I would consider a greige tone on the walls. As you have natural wood baseboards..(I like them), I would add tall shelves, the color of your trim to each of the alcoves. The bottom of the alcoves could be closed cabinets. Your TV could sit on one of them. Leave the backs of the shelves open for the paint to show through. You could display other art (including paintings) on them as well as books, photos, etc. I would not put a mantle above the fireplace as it looks more contemporary to be a clean look. I would place a very large framed round mirror over the fireplace, or a very tall vertical one, If every mirror were to only reflect a great view..there would be very few of them anywhere....See MoreNeed help window placement & size & type glass
Comments (7)I feel in a situation like this, I would not add windows with no view that would probably end up with some type of coverings a great deal of the time. My situation would be use of mirrors to reflect available light back into room. Mirror could be styled to look like Windows etc. we have a similar situation in our kitchen, and we mirrored over the sink, and created two faux windows using mirror and drapery side pannels. The effect works great, and when you add the right lighting the effect is wonderful, day and night. Take a good look and visualize day and night views creating with mirrors designed into a "today" style and look....See MoreMirror
Comments (5)The mirror is beautiful. Im curious as to the color of the back of the mirror? If it's black it will have a tendency to "stand" off the wall more visually, which is interesting. If you want it to visually push back then consider painting the back of the mirror the wall color....See MoreShould I put mirror over fireplace or over tv. mirror can only be 95 c
Comments (11)There are a thousand ways to use mirrors beautifully in a living room -- just not any old mirror in any old place, that I would agree with I think you should have art over the fireplace, and I see potential for using a scattering of small mirrors to bring light into the alcove and counterbalance the somewhat awkward angle of the TV. I'm assuming there's nowhere else to put the TV? I agree that the furniture in that corner is rather too flimsy to handle either the size of the TV or the bold black boxes of the fireplace and hearth. How about a striking floor vase? (Just resist the temptation to stick stuff in it.) https://www.etsy.com/listing/158899961/poster-geometric-print-a3-abstract-wall http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Natural-Bamboo-Floral-included/dp/B006O127GY...See MoreHazzles Hazzles
