Attic conversion and internal doors and flooring

We're converting out attic very soon. At the moment the downstairs doors and skirtings are red deal/pine and there are tiles on the ground floor. We are putting in an ash stairs and there will be carpet upstairs. It is our intention to eventually change the downstairs doors and skirtings to match the upstairs and to put a wood floor down all over the downstairs.

What would you recommend

1. for the skirtings and doors upstairs?

2. to eventually put on the downstairs floor taking into consideration the ash staircase?

Thanks.

Check with the supplier of your new doors. These have to be a certain thickness and fire rated with a loft conversion.
