What colour floors would go best with White Oak doors and white walls in a very small living room and hallway.

The key is seeing the potential a room has.You should choose a color similar to the white oak doors to make the room appear bigger. a darker floor would accentuate the small scale of the floor. What floor material are you looking to use? Wood? tile? Carpet? Stone? Concrete? Each material has a "nice match" to what you are asking. And white walls change so I would be more interested in what you are trying to achieve rather than what "looks good" with white.

Hi Gilluan I think either could work but it depends on the layout of your new room. if there is a distinct divide between the two spaces then you can separate the floor coverings. It certainly makes the living area feel warmer and more cosy if you have wooden flooring in that space. Equally a tiled floor is far more practical in a kitchen. It looks very pretty. I would look at pics of painted floors versus whitewashed and see which you prefer then people can hopefully help with methods. I've used chalk paint but not on a floor. Annie Sloan sell floor lacquer so you don't need to use the wax which is very time consuming to apply, the lacquer can be rollered on. The only thing I would say is that it does not adhere to I think varnish made in the 80's and I find the White paint coverage is poor although not an issue if white washing. I believe you can get click and lock hardwood and bamboo planks. Also I have seen people use cork tiles on stairs quite effectively.
