Small bathroom - options?

Hi, I am considering purchasing my first property. One thing that is concerning me is the size and layout of the bathroom. Attached is a picture of the current layout of the bathroom (size is 2.62m x 1.76m).

So my question is: is there anything that I can do with this bathroom layout? What would you suggest? Although I would like to keep the bath, it isn't a necessity, and I could do without. This is the main bathroom of the house.

Would you consider moving the bath under the window? This open some space. I found that a mirror on one wall also helps a great deal to make small bathroom feel bigger! Good luck:-)

Hello Orlac2, yes you could turn the bath round and have a smaller one.. Like a tubby.. You could also take out the bath and install a shower, have a wet room style with full tiling and back to wall sink and loo.. Could be a rather luxurious shower room.. but if the bath is required then why not look at getting a Tubby Torre by Albion. They have a whole range but this is a favourite.. It can be painted any colour you like.. I like the copper colour.. You get a really fantastic soak and it's a beautiful little tub! As well as a shower. : ))

Got the bath for free. Builder literally moved the wall frame to accommodate it. Concerned it looks ridiculous as its a tight squeeze so any ideas of what I can do to make this bath look ok in the room. I'm going to paint the tub a different colour. Don't say get rid of the bath cos it's not an option!!!

If it was me, I would centre it and only silicone the back. I understand your concerns about water going down the side. Realistically, though, as you will only be washing your hands and maybe teeth in it, there is unlikely to be much water gushing about. To detract from the fact there is not as much space on either side of sink, I would have carpenter either wall mount or put legs on the cabinet so there is space underneath and the unit doesn't look too chunky!

You have 1760mm at that bottom wall so enough room for a standard bath, will loose a little space as you will have to start the bath in front of the SVP pipe (the boxed in part, but you could make this space a shelf/ nooks for storage.

I would leave the layout as it is. a new suite and modern tile choices will change how you feel massively

Hello,

I agree with jonathandb1972, updating the bathroom and restyling it can be a massive difference. You can change the layout of course! You could place the sink in from of the window and the toilet would still remain on the left. Also, you could get a smaller sink, and a toilet with smaller basin to save up some space.

The mirror is also a good trick to make your space look larger and brighter.
