My new kitchen

We are currently in the process of building our first home. However I'm finding it difficult to design the kitchen. I want a kitchen that is practical and functional. Could anyone give me advice on where best to position my appliances?Also what kind of storage is best,shelves or drawers?Thanks in advance

I would have the kitchen designed professionally at an early stage as it will highlight if you need to reposition windows or doors early

Think of your wish list, you need to personalise it. What did you imagine the space looking like when you designed it with your architect? It's unusual to have a corner window, how did you plan to dress it? Do you want wall cabinets? Do you have any back problems etc etc.

Have lots of space and am looking for 8 seater min, with perhaps extending to 10. Rectangular or Circular, but think rectangular would work best. Kitchen pic is of showroom, my kitchen is being fitted at the moment. I have wood effect tiles in bleached blonde on the floor and have chosen a very modern over table light. Thanks in advance.

Drawers seem to be more popular than cupboards nowadays - as easier to access what's in there - and shelves look pretty but in reality they can get greasy so are a bit high maintenance !!

Appliance postponing is dependent on the final design - could be in various different places ! As you have a fab sized room to work with !!

The way we work is we'd sketch a few variations first then CAD up the one ( or mix of various ones) that you feels works best for you and the tweak it so it's just right! ( for about the cost of a dishwasher ) we then supply all the jpegs of the plans and perspectives and panoramics in to a PDF with a complete item list so you can shop around with ease !!
