Can you paint or alter PVC window from one colour to another

Have brown PVC windows but don't like them. Is it possible to paint them without the paint peeling at a later date?

What products are on the market?

We have been told by various vendors that it cannot be painted in such a way that it will last. We have not actually tried it.

Thanks everyone. AMN - The lighting in the photo isn't great - the walls and venetian blinds are both white and the green is a wallpaper. I've a TV on one side and radiator on the other side of the wall but I do like the idea of painting it a different colour. What do you mean by "because the sectional is too big for the space already" thanks! Dar Eckert - like your suggestion of introducing another colour, I was thinking about aubergine but again it could be over modern and not the slightly warm vibe I'm looking for - what do you think? Carolyn - thanks for posting the rug, going to look it up and see about shipping costs etc to Ireland from that site. Really happy with the rooms but we've just had a baby and I want a bit more of a cosier feel with her around whilst still keeping with my modern twist!! Long post, sorry!!!

Have you thought of combining treatments? We do a lot of Hunter Douglas shades for privacy and light control coupled with stationary panels to give softness and luxury to the treatment. Combining textures such as woven woods provides interest both inside and out. Stationary panels allow you to have the soft treatments you want without worrying about the needed room for stack-back when the drapery is open.

Morning You say that privacy isn't an issue so I would dress the main window and the small window on the left hand wall with roman blinds. I would mount the blinds outside of the recess t make more of a feature and not steal any of the light. Regarding the two narrow windows I would leave them undressed and get two matching vases, ornaments etc and place them on the window sill to make a feature. I think that blinds would be too fussy and would detract from the rest of the room. If you wanted privacy you could always add some frosting to the two narrow windows The furniture you've chosen is beautiful I'm sure it will look fab! Hi Becky I'm not sure what style you are looking for but try www.solidor.co.uk These are the best low maintenance front doors you can get with lots of options on colours, inside and out. We are one of their installers in Colchester and have four on display, if we are near enough pop in, if not just find a local installer. if you are after timber we supply Bereco, again go to their website, not cheap but beautiful. We also can supply Grey windows, not in 50 shades, but in 3, so you can have from light to dark. Anything else just ask. Regards Joe
