Window dressing

I have dark grey windows on my house - on the front we have a bedroom ,bathroom and sitting room that is over looked .

I was thinking wood venetian blinds. What colour would you go with the grey window and what size slat?
If you think there is something that would look better I'd really appreciate
your feedback

Hi there, First of all, what a lovely space - the floor tiles are a really gorgeous feature! With these windows, it really is up to you. Shutters are fantastic for creating a clean, uncluttered feel, while, as Colourhappy says, a Roman blind is a great way to add a luxurious feel. Both create a classic look that will never go out of style. Alternatively, as you say, curtains are a gorgeous choice. Floor length curtains would create a real sumptuous look, but you may want to consider how this might block your radiator, especially if you intend to open and close them regularly. Thank you for your suggestion....one option that I had considered was something like the below - having double curtains (one voile,and one heavy curtain). Do you think that this could work in my space? Also, just to note, the curtain pole (and everything else in the room will be going, as this is the previous owners furniture), so I am not restricted to the curtain pole that is currently in the original picture. Thanks!

Hi Isobel, Could you add an obscured film to the window instead? I would have thought that this would be fine with planning as it's removable. I'm assuming that the planning restriction is because you're in a conservation area? The films come in different finishes, I've had a fairly successful go at applying a sandblasted one. There are specialist companies that will do it for you though

Hello, We extended our living room into the kitchen and now have a couple of arched windows a rectangular window and French doors in the room. My question is, should we put curtains on all windows and doors or curtains on some and blinds on others? Any advice appreciated.
