Sitting room curtains dilemma

Hi folks, would really appreciate some guidance.
We moved into our new house. We have an Ivory leather suite of furniture and walls are painted Salter Stone (Colourtrend). We have wooden floors and wooden skirtenboards. The room is south east facing. We have two young children so my husband brought home a purple and cream rug which we do not plan keeping longterm but the babies need it for crawling on as floor too hard.
I cannot find curtains to match at all. Every colour is too light, too yellow, too cream, too bland. The furniture and walls are insipid that I thought I would need a stronger colour on the curtains but every sample I bring home just doesn't work. Can anyone help at all?
