Need help selecting colours for a Sofa & Armchairs
Comments (5)Though I like aubergine, I would keep your upholstery colors neutral and select rugs, art, and accessories to add the color. Using aubergine will lock you into that color scheme for many years. If it's absolutely your favorite color, then go for it. Otherwise, stay neutral....See Moreneed help to choose collor for walls in my sitting room
Comments (6)I'm thinking a warm gray...it would accent the mirror and go beautifully with the color of the fire surround and the gray floor. You could do the chimney breast (the bumped out wall) in a slightly darker shade that the other walls. As noted above, look at the Affinity Colors from Ben Moore as your inspiration, then you can look at other manufacturers. Also, not that you asked, but replace the "feathers" on the mantel with something else...they're too close to the look of the mirror and almost look as though they have fallen off...use them elsewhere in the room, grouped together....See MoreNew sofa style
Comments (81)Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. Red makes a big statement! Just my 2 cents worth, good luck!...See MoreHelp with colours
Comments (53)Thanks a mil! That's the thing about new colour. It does take some getting used to. However I had my babies room, a spare room and the inside of my front door painted at the same time last week and love all of the colours chosen but this one I just can't look at. It turned out to be more of a minty green than the colour samples on the wall. One of the fabrics below are being make up in a footstool and I think it may be overkill with too much colour. I wanted the coushions and footstool to pop as those are the things you spend the most amount of money on rather than the paint. In saying that. The cost of the paint was expensive and also paying someone to do it. Now to do it all over again is not ideal.:(. i took the cushions and fabric into one of my other rooms to see what it looked like against a more neutral background and felt it looked a little better. See pics below. Any other paint suggestions are much appreciated....See Moresharynday
