looking for pocket/pivot door hardware for kitchen cabinets

Hi! Has anyone ever put pocket/pivot doors on kitchen cabinet doors?

I've been looking for pocket/pivot door hardware I can use on my kitchen cabinet doors so I can recess the doors into the cabinet. The doors will be about 15" wide by 20" tall each (2 of them side by side). It's for 2 different cabinets: 1 with computer screen, the other with a small TV.

The problem I'm having is that I have frameless cabinets so have pretty much full overlay. The Knape & Vogt pivot door hardware indicates (I think) that the maximum overlay is 13/32 for their overlay hinges. KV pivot door hardware Isn't that too little for frameless?

Btw, these doors are for one section of a tall cabinet. The bottom shelf for this section will be covered by a drawer just below this section. So, the top and bottom are fine, it's just the sides I have to worry about.

Thank you so much! I've searched the internet tons and can't seem to find what I need. If I'm not understanding how this hardware works, I'd be happy for someone to explain too!!

The link in your post seems to be broken, but I found the KV model and it does look to be half-overlay, not full. I also poked around my usual hardware sources, but the only other models I found were for inset doors. I'm having a hard time picturing how a full-overlay door could be made to recess this way, because I've never seen a hinge that would move the door far enough towards the center of the cabinet to get it out of the way of the cabinet side.

Have you considered tambour?

A full overlay door is larger than the opening, how is it going to slide in at all?

My 2¢ worth: first of all replace the dark blinds with translucent cordless single cell blinds in ivory or off-white--they let light through and provide privacy + some insulation from cold or heat. Clean, crisp look.That alone will brighten up this space. #2: clear the counterspace!--so much clutter! Where to put all these appliances that get little daily use? Get yourself a ss 24x20 or larger cart on wheels (see Amazon.com--Seville classic ss cart) and store little used, bulky appliances on its shelves--and roll the cart into a nearby coat closet--out of sight and way-- to be wheeled back when needed or individually carried back as needed. 3#gorgeous blue tiled walls.Don't touch them. #4:Walls: keep as is if off-white--not same as trim white white.Just a fresh coat needed.To make it "disappear," paint the radiator the same color as the wall behind it. #5Keep the white trim white--looks bright and clean.Keep kitchen door white. You might want to stop here and make no further changes #6Cabinets: I like Gast pic above on right, but too much blue for your blue-tiled kitchen...IMO. I'd go cooler and lighter...consider the light gray of the beadboard in the Gast pic above right. Beautiful hue. Don't go for the white white everyone clamors for these days.Too stark for your kitchen and too contrasty with the blue tile, too country kitchenish. #7. cabinet hardware: Look like glass knobs in pics. Go for knobs/pulls like in the Gast pic above--or similar in pewter or ss, my preference. Those "modern" ss bar handles don't work with your cabinets. #8 the round table is not a good fit against the wall. Get a small sq or rectangular ss or butcherblock-top table for that spot. Chop off the top tier of your chairs to shorten....and match their tops as they are now so's won't appear to take up so much visual space and still remain comfy--don't replace w/ uncomfortable stools.Keep white. #9. Do away with wood valance over sink window.Too country. #10 Countertops--solid color Corian type or laminate--depends on budget--don't want busy stone textures of quartz, etc. Consider a medium value cool gray. (Or maple butcherblock?). Can't see color/texture of floor.... hope some of this helps. Good luck! lisianthus' pic tho nice is too busy-cutesy for your minimalist aims IMO

Hi guys, Leelee we are definitely doing the vintage bits on the wall. We actually have some vintage cereal boxes that we are planning on displaying on the shelves (filled with cereal of course)!. Sarainitaly - I'm investigating thenIkea planner but it's painful to work (or maybe it's just me!). Here's a pic of the walls totally painted green now. Think the shelves will look great along with some pictures dotted around. It's the cabinets now that will b a pain! BTW it was pure enthusiasm that stopped me waiting until the water heater came off the wall to paint - lol. I will have to paint the patch when it's off.

A soft mossy or grey green would be my first impulse but Sarah's dark blue looks good. It depends on your kitchen ware. White porcelains will pop with the blue and earthy stoneware will go more with the soft greens. I'd add a shelf to extend from the cabinet across the tile and a pot rack or hooks over the stove.

My kitchen was very similar to yours Theresa very dark - needed to leave lights all the time! I got the cabinets professionally painted in an off white by Farrow and ball and the walls are in Bone by farrow and ball which is a kind of grey - sage color. looks and feels way warmer and brighter! Think this could work really well with your wall tiles as they appear to have a green tone in them. Definitely integrate appliance - so glad I got mine painted it feels like a whole new kitchen without the big investment! Best of luck with yours!

Jon, thank you so much. I think I'll give up on that idea. When I first had the idea, I simply wasn't thinking about the full overlay (this is first time I've had frameless cabinets). I may try a tambour. I may also try to get them to fold to the side (eg a 270 degree hinge on one side, maybe attach 2 doors together with butt hinge so they fold). Both of the cabinets I'm trying to do this for are on ends so I guess I'm not out of options.
