URGENT Please help with Kitchen Diner living layout

Hello, I desperately need help with the layout of a new kitchen diner living area.

We have knock-down the back wall of our house to create a large open space.

I would like to fit a kitchen with a island, dining table and sofa in this room.

Any ideas on how to place the kitchen? We have a large american style fridge to fit as well as a large cooker.

Which direction is the backyard. Am presuming black squares are doorways, what are the white ones?

The long black one is the back garden door way.The smaller one on the same wall is the door way leading to extension;s corridor.

The black square at the front is the door way to enter the room.

The white squares are the supportive pillars for the back wall and the long one is the chimney breast.

The sink in the island is the way to go here. As Lampert Dias mentioned above, your island can be larger than drawn. I prefer the sink and the breakfast bar at the same height as pictured above, but some people like to step the bar side up to protect it from the sink. It is an option. You can put the pantry and refrigerator on either side of the wall or even split them up and flank the wall as long as the refrigerator door can open. I would take the opportunity for more storage or display and put a cabinet on the wall behind the breakfast bar. Consider using a shallower cabinet there like 17" deep. It could be like a "china" cabinet display piece or more pantry storage if needed.

Where is your refrigerator? If you move your stove over is there room for a refrigerator and a stove? You will need at the very least 12" on each side of your stove. Your sink can either go by the window or on the island. Another option is to put the stove on the outside wall and move the window over. If you do this you can put the sink on the island. The refrigerator can go on the back wall and you might have room for a 24" wide pantry at the end next to the door and the refrigerator can go next to the pantry.

I believe the cabinets are a dark charcoal, sometimes also known as off black... The valences can be even more super simple to make yourself if you buy two table runners with a similar design and sew three ends together :) then sew rod pocket and install the rod on the back of the overhang :) If you can't find table runners, it's such simple sewing that definitely can be done by a beginner.

Looks like kitchen in area bottom left of picture, dining table near large entrance, overlooking backyard. Looks like size of fridge will determine layout. Nice big room.

Thanks Dytecture. The layout you mentioned is actually mine. I just posted this new tread because I'd like a fresh new view on a new layout.

Once you get your head into one layout it's hard to think of something else, I found.
