What colour to paint the exterior walls of house to tone or contrast with cream windows?

We have installed new windows that are a cream colour (RAL 9001 to be exact). My husband and I are unsure should we go darker to contrast the cream or best to try and match near to the cream colour of the windows? Sorry no photo as house is surrounded by scaffolding right now and the windows are covered in a protective tape!

I have the same dilemna and am going to go for a slightly darker colour to contrast. Have you heard of / seen a color called Soft Avoca?

I would go deeper in color than the windows. Don't know what else you have to match up with, but I like a slightly deeper tan or taupe color.

hello bonnielynn75 and THANK YOU! your comment put a smile on my face re the red on the interior side of the door. It IS red on the inside as well, he insisted on that when we purchased it. no one here has it red on the inside and I wanted it to be white on the inside. do you see my dilemma?;) I agree with everything you are saying, I suppose this is the reason why so far I was not 100% sure about the black for the door either, although I like black...Agree, there is too much wall and I find the house to be looking a bit 'bland' and would like to change that. I LOVE shutters, but read somewhere that you never put shutters on wide windows, so got unsure about that, too...but perhaps just the one as I stated earlier. Would the color on that shutter be the same as the door (if I ever settle on a door color)? Unfortunately window boxes are not an option as we have quite a few cats and they may be used as litter boxes;) please don't tell me to get rid of the cats;)... Regarding the stoop (entrance) : we need to add another step (made of cement) on top of the existing step: it was removed when the new door was fitted. We were thinking of putting slate tiles or something dark to match the roof, if that makes any sense.... It is porous cement so unsuitable for painting, I think. What place in Ireland did you visit, we are close to the Irish Sea in the country surrounded by sheep;)...

I would go for a stone colour so not too dissimilar to what you've got. Little Greene does a good stone colour too but will work out a bit expensive. This is Oxford stone by farrow and ball. If you were doing the windows and front door then maybe an old white with door and windows in french grey

I think maybe a mid grey would look good...especially if you chose one with green undertones to tie into the kitchen etc. It's also more maintenance friendly than white or cream...which get dirty very fast. You can see the kind of colour I mean in this picture...but if you feel the colour doesn't work on the inside you can always have a different one to the exterior!!

I agree with slightly deeper. Too deep could be too much contrast.

Hey guys. I have only found this thread as I am researching this same question. I have cream sliding sash Windows and we are trying to pick a suitable exterior paint colour. Has anyone got recommendations or pictures?
