Help with colour for Irish back garden

Hi, trying to choose 2 colours for our back walls and planters. The shed will be hidden behind a wooden screen. The planters will be planted predominantly bamboo , uplighters with white stone covering the surface. The house has an acrylic off white finish. Would love something uplifting and brave to visually conteract the miserable weather we are enduring here!

HI -- your color is right in front of you. It's on the door. Paint the planters the same blue and then paint the wall a charcoal. The plants will look great against that color and with the dark color they will stand out . And the white gravel with the blue will be stunning.Paint the shed and it's wooden screen the same charcoal color as the wall and it will almost disappear.

I really think it's the plants that are supposed to be the center of attraction so I have a hard time thinking of anything better than painting the wall gray and the planters charcoal. However, trying to keep an open mind I did locate the photo above with yellow planters, which would be pretty against a gray wall.

But looking at your very lovely blue door, I could see repeating that very same color on the planters and leaving the wall gray. It's always a good thing to repeat an existing color when it looks as great as that one does. That blue would be dynamite on a planter filled with green plants and colorful blooms.

Hi Travis and SoYoung - thanks for mentioning the fireplace.....I was thinking that I would keep it simple with a wood shelf over it and a large piece of Art but I now think it might be a bit lost. Would love some ideas as it needs to work with the built-ins which are slightly domineering. Also, Liam_Boyle - agree re the unbalance. The TV will be staying but I have a lovely coffee table and 2 identical sofas coming so I'm hoping to lay out symmetrically in the room. Will keep 1 of the chairs. Hope this will balance up. Thanks.

How will you pose for your Miss Photogenic photo op? Will you go with the Carmen Miranda fruit bowl tiara? Or would the Easter egg thingamadooeys suffice? Decisions, decisions..... Hi lots of different options and ideas going on. I had a similar wall and understand how mean it can be to little ones. I bought and put up the expanding wood trellis. This instantly covered the area at a very reasonable price. I then planted quick growing climbing plants. I'm not a great gardener so I cant remember what i had but ask at the garden centre they will advise you. But at least you have a barrier in place to minimize accidents.
