have just got a new bathroom fitted and the fitter never removed the plastic coating on shower tray and tiled over it and now it is impossible to remove. any tips

Call the fitter back out and insist that they figure it out

i have done that but they said they could do nothing about it just continue to pick at it. hours done but just little bits coming off is taken hours and many more hours to go.

Hello kswardrobe, Well some thoughts are... can you put in some internal glass doors? This would allow light to flow from rooms... Presume the bedroom has a window but is north facing? Is the front door also part of this hallway? Can you install a door with glass too? So the hall can benefit from light in this way too? Other things would be to leave doors open so that light from rooms can flood out into the hall.. Further ideas are well placed mirrors that bounce light.. What is on the walls? Does this hinder the feeling of light and airy.. light flooring would also help here too.. :))

This sounds really awful. Depending on how litigious u are, this would be grounds for an errors and omissions claim on their insurance

You should not stand for it. Are they on home improvement websites where you could give them a bad review? They may be more interested in fixing it if you say you are going to post your bad experience.

we dont have home improvement websites here so dont know where to go from here other than spend hours picking at it

Kathleen, where are you located? And what was the name of the company that handled your fiasco and the name of the worker(s) if you know them? Maybe someone on here could assist if we knew that information.
