We are currenly putting a new redwood staircase in our house. I would like to paint the staircase cream but have been advised that it is very hard to keep the staircase clean when it is cream and small marks show up very easily. Anybody any advise? Is there special paint you can get that is easier to keep?
We painted our steps cream in our old house. Scuff marks showed all the time! Tried painting risers a darker color ....helped but still saw scuff marks so finally ended up putting stair runner over cream stairs. That solved the problem but had to vacuum runner quite a bit.
Who would paint redwood???? That's a total sin against the wood gods. Don't waste money on a premium upgraded wood like that if you want paint. Go with cheap paint grade poplar for half the price. And don't do cream paint to walk on unless you want to repaint every 6 months.
