I need advice on adding colour

I recently re-covered my lounge suite and would to add some colour. The suite is Mink and Cream and the floor is Oak. Would like to advice on colours for accessories and curtains. Thanks

Looks nice and I like the calm look of the room. I suppose some soft blues could work well in there but I might just continue to add more cream.

My first thoughts, a deep, dark red or a lighter, bright teal. I realise that your room probably isn't as gold as the picture makes it look, but I still think they would work. Cover one, then the other, with your hand to get the feeling if you might like one. I'd leave the curtains neutral, and plain.

shelly12345...not sure if you have completed your fireplace/room, just saw this post while looking for help with my own family room. I think would paint the fireplace and mirror white...would match the trim work of your room and your lighter furnishings. Something that was suggested to me...use some fabric or poster board to cover the wood on both, just to give you an idea of what it would look like white. That way you are not committed once the paint has been applied to the wood. I love Dytectur's idea of wallpapering the room and having the fireplace wall white. Would really pop! Good luck and post pictures if your finished or when you finish.

I think you should consider houssaon's idea of painting it the same color as the walls. Is the top of the tv console painted wood or is it a stone or composite? In the pictures my ipad shows me speckles (not dirt!!). My ipad sometimes *lies* to me. :) If the gray is the prominent color in the paint, maybe a darker gray would be a good choice too. If you are happy with the gray/green color next to your bookcases, then you should be able to pick a gray that would look good with both the new paint, and the bookcase. Gray next to the fireplace shouldn't be a problem :)

Hello Debbie, Why not give a company like Opopsi a call.. They may be able to print something bespoke for you.. They also do canvases or Mural type.. I have not used them as yet but I think they could help.. I would say no to borders and maybe consider a wallpaper idea.. I think they do that too! Maybe you could even consider a more bespoke arrangement rather than lots and lots of photo's some could be overlapped or semi transparent so you get the effect of double exposures but with different images.. So it's more creative than a tile effect.. .. : ))
