Help with a relaxation room

We have a small attic room (20 square meters) with one skylight window. We wanted to make it into a relaxation/mediation room... Ie the one room in the house without any devices and electronics designed solely for some quality peace time.. we would love any suggestions!!!! A do not disturb room for busy lives!!!

If possible install an electric fireplace mounted on the wall for coziness. A big couch with lots of pillows and thick rugs. I also would install on one wall a build in bookshelf if there are no walls use the space at the door. Looks great build in and makes this room more separated from the rest of the house. Lots of books, magazines and board games if you have kids and there you go. Keep the colours calm and neutral on walls except the rug. Heavy warm colour to create your cozy nest. If you don't have walls in the attic place couch in the middle of the room as centerpiece. That should do the trick.

Hang a mobile…they are so relaxing to watch. I like the contemporary ones from http://www.flensted-mobiles.com . Aquariums are wonderful to 'take you away'. Place a live plant under the skylight…it will create instant serenity. To complete the mood…add fragrance with candles or incense….these things work for me!

Thrift shops rule! You can pick up the practical stuff---tables, chairs, chests of drawers, and even upholstered items---and make them your own with chalk paint and slipcovers. Sometimes you can find attractive art. Lamps are also super cheap at such places as the Salvation Army, and you can paint those, too. Chalk paint can be used indoors, as it requires no messy sanding and has essentially no smell. I think you'll also want a rug and curtains. If I were you, I'd use the greater part of my budget on a good rug or two that I could keep forever. Lots of people make their own drapes out of drop cloths, but Ikea curtains are a pretty cheap option. Good luck. You're going to have fun decorating your new place.

New en suite and dressing room/relaxing area

We have a large bedroom; we walk into another room 350 cm x 550 cm to gain access to this bedroom (incl. ensuite 350 x 100cm stud wall). We would like to change the aforementioned room and ensuite into a spacious en suite and a dressing room/relaxation area making this entirely our 'boudoir', as it will be all contained in one area of the house.
