Exterior house color

Hi we want light oak windows and want the best neutral house color to go with them. We were thinking of taupe with white trim but do not know if that suits. Help please!

Taupe and oak don't look good together at all as they're too close to each other so they clash.

The colors that do look wonderful with oak and similar wood colors are olive and gray greens along with gray blues. We've been putting in a lot of wood trim so I've had to analyze this for the last several months. Here are some colors I think work well with wood:

At the bottom left hand side of the page are coordinating colors you could use for trim.

Light oak doesn't tell us anything. What type of windows. Link or picture of the color?

Hi, I think that you could give this house a smart contemporary look with the grey windows that you suggested. I would break each window up into two or three panels though, this would give each panel a more elegant vertical emphasis. A timber front door is always nice though, the image above shows one of our houses with a similar hip-roofed style and grey frames (the windows here are openable too). It is good to match the window frame colour to the gutters and/or eaves fascia & soffit. In this house we had an iroko timber door and eaves which brings a warm high quality feel to the house. Hi! We've just bought a new house and the exterior is like marmite, I love it but I think everyone else hates it I just think it needs a facelift. It's white and grey pebbledash which I'm afraid might be too expensive/destructive to remove. I hate the front door and there's just so much grey, plus it's sitting in a sea of tarmac. Amy suggestions?
